Having celebrated blessed rainy day from the day i was born till last year 21st September,2012 i never thought this year's blessed rainy day celebration would be without my family and friends in a different place. As i gather to celebrate this occasion with my friends of Rangsit University i just flash back to think of my people back in my country. On this day in every nook and corner of Bhutan, everybody would be having great times with their loved ones. Some would be preparing many item of dishes for the meals, some would be dipping themselves into the water to purify time and again, some playing the friendly matches with cheers and kids jamming up themselves with play. People will be busy in groups and laughter and cheers would surround them.
For the blessed rainy day celebration i never thought we would have as such celebration when away from country but indeed we did have a great one. The day before for Thruebaab, we just stored a bucket of water filled with variety of flower in an open space on a belief that the water will be blessed and will be changed into a holy water which later will purify us when we use it for taking bath or washing purpose. The early morning we share the water and took turn to wash all our bad deeds and purify to new self being. The next thing we did was all the members of Rangsit gathered for the porridge and a cup of butter tea..so called thub and suja. We had good times and just clicked the morning hour activity in a similar way back with family. The next thing we would be doing was prepare self for the dinner together at the boys apartment since our elders and friends have planned for dinner and some snacks. This was something i never expected away from my country and people.
Oh i just miss my family and the most my daughter with whom i just spend two years of celebration. Her first year of blessed rainy day was on my lap and the second year was fun for her as she had flower bath. This year i could have made more fabulous but i am away from her. This is something life always bring to us, unexpected things and we just need to walk through it.

ReplyDeleteThank you sir...and i just hope you too had great time with your friends in the new place.
DeleteNostalgia grips us when we are away from home and family. And the feeling just overwhelmingly grows when we are overseas especially on a special occasion like 'The Blessed rainy day'. Your post reminded me of my stay in Rangsit University and how i missed my home and family during Thrue bab. Friends would plan for parties. But the feeling persists.
ReplyDeleteNyways keep posting and welcome to Blogsphere.
Firstly thank you for the welcome to Blogsphere where i really don't have any idea of it and at the same time nor am i a good writer. I do agree with the nostalgia grip you had undergone but must be at present having fun with family.Any way thank you for reading my write up and would welcome suggestions for improvements la.
DeleteGood to hear that you enjoyed equally as you are in Bhutan!
