The merit of shift in class....

It was unexpected dinner invitation by one of our Ajern who teaches us Instructional design and development and who is our course director too. I must say our group is lucky enough to have a caring and very much concerned lady. Sometimes it sounds too noisy for us when she says a lot to us but if thought properly she is taking care of us as we never expect to take care of us unless the stranger is your family or friends and more over the lady is of not our country rather of different nationality. So we can never expect such care and concern for us as she do. It is not that her dinner invitation has changed my thought but she really is very caring and over whelming at heart. Sometimes it is difficult to understand her but the result of whatever she says or does is for the benefit of us. We actually have class with her on every Thursday from morning 9 to evening 4 but she could not take the whole day and took the remaining 3 hours of classes today. She postponed the Thursday morning class for Friday afternoon. We had discussion on instructional model we learnt in the previous class with some presentation of what we have understood. After the lesson was over she always make an effort of switching her role from class instructor to course director since she was attached to five of us. She keeps on asking us about our research topic and what we have thought about bla bla....Ufff  thinking on research topic really gets on to my nerves and want to walk away but i know i have to do it.
Today after the discussion and all the required inquiry was over she invited us for the dinner with her. We couldn't resist to say yes discussed and thought we will have french fry rather than any other food but had meeting to attend too. Since we wanted to go for it we requested the coordinator to spare us and said will join later for the meeting. We agreed to our Ajern's invitation and went out for dinner with  some groups of Thai students who was also doing the masters programme too. We didn't know where were we would be going but I just had the nausea feeling of getting into taxi which is filled with smell of AC or gas they use  for car instead of fuel. Any way I just kept my mouth shut and was excited to go out for french fry and MC Donald. The dinner was just 2 km away from our university in a place called Maung-Ake where it was also market day today. There were 14 of us all together.
Vigorously enjoyed the dinner....
Poor Fish on menu

Ops! I was sad thinking that I won't enjoy the dinner but I had very great dinner and evening out which was filled with laugh and talks with those group of Thai students who was in-fact very keen to be friends and know about our country. Sometime it was hard to understand the Thai friends but our dear Ajern was there to translate on what they were trying to say. There was lot on menu and we ordered different dishes to try out. All in all it was a great dinner though it wasn't the place I expected but was awesome. Thanking our Ajern and all the friends for making it a memorable one for me.

Birthday live from Facebook.....

When I write this article, my daughter's birthday has already been celebrated but I really had a moment of it stored in my phone memo which I am just reprinting it in my blog.  Passang sir (Passu diary), a good and a frequent writer in blogger's world just suggested me that keeping my moment of words in blog can reduce the space occupied in my phone memory which is really true. So it is just a moment I have here in my blog. Well it was my daughter's 3rd year birthday on 4th September where I really missed being with her. She really wanted me to be with her but it isn't that easy for me to take a route all the way from Bangkok to Bhutan since it means a lot for fellow like us. I know when I say it means a lot, people might think money is nothing if we weigh it to the happiness but we live in reality not in fantasy and in reality money means a lot. So I just feel ashamed of myself for not being able to fulfill my daughter's wish on her birthday.
I did celebrate 2 years of her birthday but that time she really didn't know the true essence of birthday party rather it was like a get together for an adults for instance. After her journey from two year till the third year she have learnt so much that now she really knows the enjoyment of birthday party and the love of receiving gifts on birthday. So one question my daughter would always have is  "When is my birthday?" and one song she sings frequently is "Happy birthday to Pema" and finally when that day came I am not with her. Presently she is with my parents at Paro and her papa is also away from her since he too needs to go to work and managing the kid alone isn't an easy task. So we had no option rather than keeping her with her grandparents who just love her as much as we do but kid they don't understand. They have a notion that they are always meant to be with their parents not knowing even their grandparents can love them as much as parents do.
My main intention of this write up is to thank the man behind who invented the computer or laptop, man who invented the webcam and speaker in PC and the man who created face book for they were all the factors that lead me to watch the live birthday celebration of my daughter getting 3 years old. It was just a different feeling for me to see them celebrate it. I could feel my own absences their with my daughter but I feel at least contended that I was blessed to to see things happening in front of me. Every little things done for the celebration I could witness. I was so excited and waiting for so long to see it as if the people awaits for world cup live but for me it was much more important than world cup.  Her papa who loves her the most did leave all his work to make her day all the way from Punakha to Paro and he does make his frequent visit to our daughter that landed to best use of his 10 days casual leave.Through the video chat I could see my family decorating for her birthday party where our dear ones were invited. I could see my daughter dressed up for her birthday which I sent it from here and herself preparing for the reception of gift for her birthday. She was so excited for it and I could hear giggles and screams when she was playing with her first cousin. All in all it was an excitement she waited for so long I guess after being away from her mama and papa. When I just saw my daughter cut her cake my eyes was filled with tears and what made it more difficult was when she extended her hand with a piece of cake towards me saying "Yae mummy". It was an like unexpected thing my daughter did and I was like..... I didn't know how to react. I was shedding tears but my my lips gave smile.I am glad that her grand parents is always their for her who is sacrificing all their best to keep her engaged and feelings of being away from parents. It is also a confession to my daughter for I and my study may be the reason for she being away from her parents when she need the most.

Unexpected Thruebaab in Bangkok

Having celebrated blessed rainy day from the day i was born till last year 21st September,2012 i never thought this year's blessed rainy day celebration would be without my family and friends in a different place. As i gather to celebrate this occasion with my friends of Rangsit University i just flash back to think of my people back in my country. On this day in every nook and corner of Bhutan, everybody would be having great times with their loved ones. Some would be preparing many item of dishes for the meals, some would be dipping themselves into the water to purify time and again, some playing the friendly matches with cheers and kids jamming up themselves with play. People will be busy in groups and laughter and cheers would surround them.
For the blessed rainy day celebration i never thought we would have as such celebration when away from country but indeed we did have a great one. The day before for Thruebaab, we just stored a bucket of water filled with variety of flower in an open space on a belief that the water will be blessed  and will be changed into a  holy water which later will purify us when we use it for taking bath or washing purpose. The early morning we share the water and took turn to wash all our bad deeds and purify to new self being. The next thing we did was all the members of Rangsit gathered for the porridge and a cup of butter called thub and suja. We had good times and just clicked the morning hour activity in a similar way back with family. The next thing we would be doing was prepare self for the dinner together at the boys apartment since our elders and friends have planned for dinner and some snacks. This was something i never expected away from my country and people.
Oh i just miss my family and the most my daughter with whom i just spend two years of celebration. Her first year of blessed rainy day was on my lap and the second year was fun for her as she had flower bath. This year i could have made more fabulous but i am away from her. This is something life always bring to us, unexpected things and we just need to walk through it.
